Data inventory

Privacy Policy

This page describes what data exists during a transfer, where it lives, and what controls it. The key point is file custody: files24.online does not store the file bytes you transfer.

File contents

Transferred files

Files are read by the sender browser and delivered to the receiver browser through the active peer session. The application server is not a file-storage destination.

  • Server retention: no server-side file copy is created by the app.
  • User control: the receiver decides whether to save a completed file.
  • Device control: downloads are managed by the browser and operating system.
Connection metadata

Signaling and abuse protection

The signaling service needs operational metadata to coordinate rooms, protect the service, and keep connection attempts from being abused.

  • May include timestamps, temporary peer identifiers, and IP-derived rate-limit keys.
  • Used for connection setup, health, abuse control, and diagnostics.
  • Does not include the contents of transferred files.
Browser storage

Local transfer state

The web app may keep interface preferences and transfer history in browser storage on the device that used the tool.

  • Local history is not an account profile on files24.online.
  • Private browsing modes may discard local state automatically.
  • Clear site data in your browser to remove local traces from that device.
